Wicklow Way · Official Stage 6 of 7 · north to south

Moyne → Shillelagh

The long descent into south Wicklow. Round the base of Ballycumber Hill, past Tinahely, over Muskeagh Hill, through Mullinacuff to the Stranakelly crossroads — home of Tallon's Pub ("The Dying Cow"). Crosses the 100 km line. Hedgerows full of wild flowers through summer.

A note on the surface: about 63% of this stage and the next is on quiet rural roads — pleasant and easy underfoot, but not wild mountain trail. Plan footwear and expectations accordingly.  ·  Rest-day add-on: staying in Tinahely? Walk the 4 km Tomnafinnoge Wood Loop — one of Ireland's last surviving ancient oak woodlands (a short drive from the village; not on the Way itself).
