How the day unfolds
- Out of Glenmalure up the Drumgoff Gap — steady climb of 250 m over 2 km.
- Along the Lugduff ridge with views into the Glenealo Valley on your left. Red deer and feral goats on these slopes.
- Descend the famous Spinc boardwalk — Ireland's most photographed walking trail.
- Down the wooden staircases (600 steps) into the Upper Lake of Glendalough.
- Finish at the monastic city — round tower, cathedral, Saint Kevin's Kitchen. Stay: Glendalough Hotel or Laragh village B&Bs. Dinner at the Wicklow Heather.
