Tonelagee and Lough Ouler is a strenuous 10–13 km upland walk near the Sally Gap, climbing onto the broad slopes of Tonelagee with views over the heart-shaped Lough Ouler — one of Ireland's best-known mountain lake viewpoints. Lough Ouler was formed by glacial activity during the last Ice Age. Allow 4–5 hours.

How to walk it

Start at the Turlough Hill car park near the Sally Gap. The Tonelagee & Lough Ouler Walk is approx. 10–13 km — a strenuous upland walk climbing onto the broad slopes of Tonelagee with views over Lough Ouler and central Wicklow. Allow 4–5 hours. Rough mountain paths, boggy sections and exposed upland ground.
