The Railway Walk at Tinahely is one of the most-loved short walks in south Wicklow — a gentle, almost-flat loop following the trackbed of the old Dublin, Wicklow & Wexford Railway line between Tinahely and Shillelagh. It's suitable for buggies, dogs on leads, and anyone who doesn't want to earn their dinner the hard way.
The walk begins at the old station house in Tinahely (signposted from the main square). Follow the clear path south along the old line — the track is level, well-drained, and signposted throughout. After about 3 km you'll reach the turn-around point near Coolafancy. Return the same way for a 6.4 km round-trip.
