How the day unfolds
- Leave Glendalough north up the old pilgrim path towards the Upper Lake.
- Over Paddock Hill with views back into the Glendalough valley.
- Past Lough Dan — one of the quietest lakes in Wicklow. Often dolphins of mist on a still autumn morning.
- Through the Ballinastoe Wood boardwalk — recently rebuilt with sustainable Irish oak.
- Finish in Roundwood — the highest village in Ireland at 238 m. Dinner at Byrne & Woods or The Roundwood Inn.
