Route & directions
This stage of the Wicklow Way begins near Moyne and finishes in the market town of Tinahely in south County Wicklow. The route passes through forestry, farmland and quiet country roads while gradually descending towards one of the best-known walking towns on the southern Wicklow Way.

The route leaves Moyne through quiet rural countryside and forestry before continuing southwards across rolling farmland and woodland landscapes typical of southern Wicklow. The stage includes a mixture of forest tracks, country lanes and open countryside walking with fewer prolonged mountain climbs than earlier sections of the trail.
Sections of the route pass through commercial forestry and quieter agricultural landscapes with intermittent views across surrounding hills and valleys. The terrain gradually becomes less mountainous approaching Tinahely.
The stage finishes in Tinahely, a traditional market town and one of the principal service centres for walkers on the southern Wicklow Way, providing accommodation, cafés, shops and other services useful for continuing south towards Clonegal.

- Waterproof footwear remains advisable even on lower-level stages due to muddy forestry sections
- Parts of the route involve road walking on quiet country roads
- Tinahely has shops, cafés, pubs and accommodation frequently used by Wicklow Way walkers
- Carry rain gear even during summer months as weather conditions can change quickly in south Wicklow
- Walkers continuing south towards Clonegal should plan accommodation in advance during busy periods
