Camarahill is the strenuous southern ascent route to Lugnaquilla — a 14–16 km remote approach to Leinster's highest mountain at 925 m. Lugnaquilla's broad summit landscape was shaped by glacial erosion during the last Ice Age. Vast upland scenery across central Wicklow. Allow 6–8 hours. Experienced hillwalkers only.

How to walk it

Start at Camarahill in south Wicklow. The Lugnaquilla via Camarahill route is approx. 14–16 km — a strenuous upland walk climbing through remote mountain terrain before reaching the 925 m summit of Lugnaquilla. Allow 6–8 hours. Rough mountain paths, boggy sections and exposed upland ground.
