Knocknacloghoge — known locally as Napoleon's Nose for the profile of its ridge — is a strenuous 8–10 km upland walk near the Sally Gap. The route follows mountain tracks across open terrain to viewpoints above Lough Dan and the Cloghoge Brook. Allow 3–5 hours. Experienced hillwalkers only.

How to walk it

Start from roadside parking near the Sally Gap. The Knocknacloghoge Walk is approx. 8–10 km — a strenuous upland walk across open mountain terrain leading to viewpoints above Lough Dan. Allow 3–5 hours. Rough mountain paths, boggy sections and exposed upland ground.

  • Carry extra layers — exposed throughout
