Avondale Forest Park near Rathdrum is part of the wider Avondale Estate associated with Charles Stewart Parnell, who was born at Avondale House in 1846. The Pine Forest Trail is an easy-to-moderate 4–5 km woodland loop through mature conifer forest and estate trails with views to the Avonmore River valley. Allow 1–1.5 hours.
