Kiltegan is a quiet village in west Wicklow, set in the foothills between the open plains and the high Wicklow uplands. The village is small but has a strong local identity and acts as a base for walkers heading into the Keadeen and Camarahill hill country. The surrounding landscape is a mix of farmland, forestry and open moorland — less visited than the more northerly Wicklow mountains but equally rewarding on a clear day.
